The Earth Charter

The Earth Charter is a declaration of fundamental principles for building a just, sustainable, and peaceful world. Its 16 main principles conclude with a principle on creating a culture of tolerance, nonviolence, and peace. The peace principle is the final principle because in order to build peace, all the other principles must be implemented. One of members of the documentary committee of the Earth Charter said that in the Earth Charter there is a positive vision for the future that I strongly urge young men and women to take to heart.

The UN Millennium Development Goals

The UN Millennium Development Goals are an ambitious agenda for reducing poverty and improving lives that 189 Heads of State and Governments pledged to work together to make a better world. The eight Millennium Development Goals range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education - all by the target date of 2015. They form a set of simple but powerful objectives that every man and woman can easily support and understand. This time, leaders of the world must decide how to achieve them.
